What is your best method (including bean type) to a perfect cup of coffee?

  1. Use only 100% Arabica. Specific origin and process (i.e., dry/natural process, wet process, honey process, etc.) entirely personal preference.
  2. Roast it yourself. This will give you the control over the type of roast you prefer (i.e., light, medium, dark), and give you access to freshness.
  3. Grind just before brewing. Using pre-ground coffee or grinding and using later destroys the freshness of the coffee.
  4. Brew immediately after grinding. The brewing method you choose is entirely up to you!

By following these 4 steps you will make as perfect a cup of coffee as possible. Refining your skills, through practice and experimentation, will improve your result even further based upon your personal preferences. Everyone has different preferences when it comes to how they like their coffee. By choosing to do this method of Roast, Grind, and Brew, (aka “from green to cup”), you are maximizing your preferences in each of these stages.
